About This Trail
Alexander Springs is a first-magnitude spring pumping 80 million gallons of crystal-clear water daily. The Timucuan Nature Trail loops through longleaf pine sandhills and hardwood hammocks. Swimming in the 72-degree spring is popular year-round.
Getting There
From Altoona, FL, take CR-445 south into the Ocala National Forest. Follow signs to Alexander Springs Recreation Area.
