Angel Windows Trail

Angel Windows Trail leads to a spectacular natural rock window formation in the Red River Gorge Geological Area. This short but rewarding hike passes through mixed hardwood forest before reaching the sandstone arch that frames views of the surrounding cliffs and forest canopy. The window formation is one of many geological wonders in the Red River Gorge, created by millions of years of erosion carving through the resistant sandstone. The trail continues past the window to additional viewpoints along the cliff edge.
