About This Trail

Arabia Mountain presents one of Georgia’s most unique landscapes—a massive granite monadnock rising from the Piedmont plateau like the surface of another world. The Top Trail crosses sweeping expanses of exposed rock dotted with solution pools and patches of rare plants found nowhere else on Earth. In spring, the mountain blooms with diamorpha, a tiny succulent that turns the granite red, followed by yellow Confederate daisies in autumn. The 360-degree views from the summit reveal the Atlanta skyline, Stone Mountain, and forested wetlands stretching to the horizon. This otherworldly terrain is part of the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area, which includes historic quarries, lakes, and connecting trails. Bring sun protection—there’s virtually no shade on the exposed rock.

Getting There

From Atlanta, take I-20 east to Exit 74 for Evans Mill Road. Turn right and continue south for about 2 miles. Turn left onto Klondike Road, then right onto Arabia Mountain Road. The parking area and nature center are on the left. The Top Trail begins near the nature center and is well-marked with painted blazes on the rock surface.
