Venturing into the flooded forests of the Atchafalaya Basin, this trail offers an authentic Louisiana swamp experience among towering cypress draped in Spanish moss. Water levels vary seasonally, transforming the landscape from dry forest floor to watery wilderness. Wildlife is abundant, with alligators, nutria, and countless bird species making their home in this productive ecosystem.
