Benefield Loop Trail

Benefield Loop explores the unique ecology of Mount Magazine’s high-elevation plateau, where rare and endangered plants thrive in habitat found nowhere else in Arkansas. The trail winds through mixed forest to overlooks of Bear Hollow and the surrounding valleys, with interpretive opportunities to observe the mountain’s special flora. Wildflower enthusiasts will find species here that don’t exist anywhere else in the state. The moderate difficulty and natural diversity make this one of Mount Magazine’s most rewarding hikes.
