About This Trail
The Bethel Trail serves as a connector within De Soto National Forest’s trail network, passing through longleaf pine ridges and across boggy bottomlands. The trail provides access to the longer Tuxachanie Trail and offers a satisfying moderate hike on its own. Pitcher plant bogs along the route host these carnivorous plants along with orchids and other wetland wildflowers.
Getting There
From Wiggins, take US-49 north approximately 5 miles. Turn west onto Bethel Road (FR-402C) and continue 2 miles to the trailhead parking area on the right.
