About This Trail

Tennessee Rock Trail in Black Rock Mountain State Park offers breathtaking views from Georgia’s highest state park. The loop trail climbs through dense forests of oak, hickory, and rhododendron to a rocky overlook where, on clear days, you can see into Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, and across Georgia. The trail passes through diverse habitats including high-elevation meadows that bloom with wildflowers from spring through fall, and hardwood forests alive with migrating warblers during spring and autumn. At 3,640 feet, the park’s location creates a cooler climate that supports plant communities more typical of points much farther north. The well-maintained trail features gentle grades and is suitable for families with older children.
