About This Trail

Boone Fork Loop provides one of the most varied hiking experiences along the Blue Ridge Parkway, packing rock scrambles, stream crossings, cascading waterfalls, and diverse forest habitats into a moderately challenging loop. The trail follows Boone Fork Creek through a narrow gorge, crosses the stream multiple times on stepping stones, and passes numerous small waterfalls and cascades. The varied terrain keeps hikers engaged throughout, with something new around every bend. The Tanawha Trail crosses the loop, allowing connections to other parkway trails. This is an excellent choice for hikers seeking a more adventurous parkway experience without committing to a strenuous mountain climb.
