Canyon Rim Trail - Pipestem

The Canyon Rim Trail at Pipestem Resort State Park descends steeply to a dramatic sandstone overlook perched above the Bluestone River gorge. The short but challenging trail passes through mixed hardwood forest before reaching the exposed rock outcrop with commanding views of the canyon. The overlook provides one of the best vantage points in the park, with views extending up and down the forested gorge. Extreme caution is advised at the overlook, as there are few barriers at the cliff edge. This trail packs significant scenery into a relatively short distance.
