Castle Rock Trail

Castle Rock Trail leads through massive boulder fields to dramatic rock formations perched on the rim of the New River Gorge. The trail winds between house-sized boulders, through narrow passages, and past overhanging rock walls before reaching the castle-like rock formations at the cliff edge. Views from the rocks overlook the deep gorge and the New River below. This adventure-style trail requires some scrambling and route-finding through the boulder maze, adding excitement to the hike.
