About This Trail
Cathedral Caverns State Park is famous for its massive cave entrance—one of the largest in the world—but the park also offers scenic surface trails through the forested karst landscape above. The trail system loops through hardwood forest, past sinkholes and other karst features that hint at the vast cavern system below. Interpretive signs explain the geology that created this remarkable underground world. While the cave tour is the main attraction, the hiking trails provide a pleasant complement, especially during the cooler months when the forest canopy reveals distant views. The gentle terrain makes this suitable for families, and the trails can be combined with a cave tour for a full day of exploration.
