About This Trail
This exhilarating hike leads to Big Bluff, one of the most dramatic overlooks in the Ozarks, where sheer cliffs rise over 500 feet above the Buffalo River. The trail’s famous Goat Trail section traverses a narrow ledge carved into the bluff face, offering heart-pounding exposure and jaw-dropping views. While not technically difficult, the exposed sections demand caution and a head for heights. The reward is an unforgettable panorama of the river snaking through its ancient valley far below.
Getting There
From Ponca, take AR-43 south approximately 2 miles to Centerpoint Road. Turn left and follow the gravel road 1.5 miles to the Centerpoint Trailhead parking area on the right. The road is suitable for all vehicles in normal conditions.
