About This Trail

The Chief Ladiga Trail follows a former railroad corridor from Anniston to the Georgia state line, where it connects with the Silver Comet Trail for a combined 95-mile paved pathway. This flat, accessible trail passes through the towns of Jacksonville, Piedmont, and other communities, offering services and rest stops along the way. The trail crosses bridges over streams and passes through forests, fields, and small-town Alabama. While primarily designed for cycling, the trail welcomes hikers and offers an easy, scenic walking experience through the heart of Calhoun and Cleburne counties. The paved surface makes this accessible for wheelchairs, strollers, and visitors of all abilities.
