About This Trail

Clark Creek Natural Area offers some of the most unexpected and dramatic scenery in Mississippi, where steep ravines carved into loess bluffs harbor over 50 waterfalls, including impressive 30-foot cascades. The trail winds through moss-covered boulder fields, fern-filled crevices, and old-growth hardwood forest that feels more like the Appalachian foothills than the Deep South. Often called the ‘Grand Canyon of Mississippi,’ this challenging trail requires scrambling over rocks and navigating steep terrain. Visit after rainfall for the most impressive water flow.
