About This Trail
Congaree National Park protects the largest intact expanse of old-growth bottomland hardwood forest in the southeastern United States. These champion trees—some of the tallest in the East—create a cathedral-like atmosphere on the 2.4-mile Boardwalk Loop Trail. The elevated boardwalk allows you to explore this unique floodplain ecosystem without getting your feet wet.
Getting There
From Columbia, SC, take SC-48 southeast approximately 20 miles to the Congaree National Park visitor center.
