About This Trail
This coastal trail follows the sandy beach along Vermilion Bay, offering the relaxed pleasure of beachcombing with waves lapping at your feet. Shells, driftwood, and other treasures wash up along the shoreline, and the wide-open bay provides stunning sunset views. The beach is one of the few sandy shorelines on Louisiana’s largely marshy coast.
Getting There
From Cypremort Point State Park main parking area, walk toward the beach pavilion. The trail follows the shoreline in either direction, with the best shelling typically found to the east.
