About This Trail
This short coastal trail leads from shaded picnic areas through salt marsh grasses to a sandy beach on Vermilion Bay. The walk provides glimpses into Louisiana’s coastal ecosystem, with fiddler crabs scurrying across the mud flats and shorebirds working the water’s edge. The park is known for spectacular sunsets over the bay, and the beach offers excellent crabbing, fishing, and swimming opportunities.
Getting There
From Jeanerette, take LA-318 south for approximately 18 miles to Cypremort Point. Continue to the state park entrance at the end of the road. The trailhead is at the main parking lot near the park office.
