About This Trail

The Davidson-Arabia Nature Preserve connects Arabia Mountain to historic quarrying sites, creating a unique trail experience through reclaimed industrial landscapes and pristine granite outcrops. The path crosses exposed rock decorated with solution pools—shallow depressions that host communities of rare plants found in few other places on Earth. Historic quarry equipment remains scattered along the route, telling the story of the granite industry that once dominated this area. Spring brings spectacular displays of diamorpha and other endemic wildflowers, while the exposed granite provides exceptional views of the surrounding Piedmont landscape. The trail system connects to the broader Arabia Mountain PATH network, allowing for extended explorations.
