About This Trail
This wilderness segment follows the Leaf River through some of De Soto National Forest’s most remote terrain. The primitive trail offers genuine solitude and wilderness character, with the river providing both scenic interest and opportunities for cooling off on hot days. Experienced backcountry hikers find this among Mississippi’s most rewarding trails.
Getting There
From Wiggins, take MS-29 south approximately 18 miles to FR-374B. Turn west and follow the rough road to the Leaf Wilderness boundary. Limited parking is available at the access point.
