About This Trail
DeSoto Falls in DeSoto State Park near Fort Payne is one of Alabama’s most photographed waterfalls. The West Fork of Little River plunges 104 feet over a sandstone cliff, creating a misty spectacle that’s especially impressive after heavy rains. The short hike to the overlook is suitable for all skill levels, making it a perfect family destination.

From Fort Payne, AL, take AL-35 east to DeSoto State Park. Follow signs to DeSoto Falls.
