About This Trail

The Big Cypress Bend Boardwalk in Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park offers a 2,500-foot accessible walk through one of the largest stands of native royal palms in North America. This is the only place in the United States where ghost orchids grow wild. The old-growth bald cypress trees draped in bromeliads create an otherworldly atmosphere often called the ‘Amazon of North America.’
