About This Trail

Located within the Mississippi Sandhill Crane National Wildlife Refuge, this trail explores the wet pine savannas and bayou edges that provide critical habitat for the endangered Mississippi sandhill crane. The trail passes through pitcher plant bogs, open pine stands, and along bayou margins where diverse birdlife thrives. While crane sightings are not guaranteed, the unique coastal ecosystem makes this a rewarding hike regardless.
