About This Trail

Fort Yargo State Park’s Will-A-Way Trail provides an accessible hiking experience through diverse Piedmont habitats, designed to accommodate visitors of all abilities while offering a genuine nature experience. The paved surface winds through pine and hardwood forest, past wetland areas, and along the shores of Marbury Creek Reservoir, with benches and observation points at regular intervals. The trail is named for the adjacent Will-A-Way Recreation Area, which provides barrier-free camping and recreation facilities. Wildlife sightings are common, including white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, songbirds, and occasional glimpses of beavers in the wetland areas. The gentle grades and smooth surface make this ideal for wheelchairs, strollers, and visitors who prefer easy terrain.
