About This Trail

Gentry Creek Falls Trail leads hikers through the lush Rogers Ridge Scenic Area to one of Tennessee’s most beautiful waterfalls. The trail follows Gentry Creek upstream through a rich hardwood forest with towering hemlocks and rhododendrons before arriving at the impressive 40-foot cascade. The creek crossing adds adventure to the hike, and wildflowers carpet the forest floor in spring. This trail showcases the best of the northern Cherokee National Forest, with old-growth characteristics and pristine mountain streams. The waterfall is most impressive after rainfall, creating a thundering display as water plunges over the rock face into a deep pool below.
