About This Trail
Glory Hole Falls is one of Arkansas’s most unusual natural wonders, where a creek plunges through a natural hole in a rock overhang to cascade into a hidden grotto below. The trail follows an old roadbed through quiet Ozark forest before descending to the falls and the massive bluff shelter beneath. The waterfall flows best after rain, when the stream pours dramatically through the circular opening. The remote setting provides solitude rarely found at Arkansas’s more popular waterfalls.
Getting There
From Boxley, take AR-21 south approximately 6 miles to Compton. Turn east onto CR-53 (Compton Mountain Road) and continue 3 miles to Forest Road 1509. Turn right and follow FR-1509 for 2.5 miles to the trailhead parking on the left.
