About This Trail

Graham Creek Nature Preserve protects over 500 acres of diverse coastal habitats in the heart of Baldwin County, offering trails through pine flatwoods, bottomland hardwoods, and along scenic Graham Creek. Boardwalks cross wetland areas, providing close-up views of coastal plant communities without disturbing sensitive habitats. The preserve’s location along the Gulf Coast Flyway makes it excellent for bird watching, especially during spring and fall migration. Interpretive signs explain the ecology of Alabama’s coastal plain and the importance of habitat preservation. The relatively flat terrain makes this accessible for families, while the diverse habitats provide constant natural interest. This preserve demonstrates that wild places can thrive even in rapidly developing coastal areas.
