About This Trail
Greenbo Lake State Resort Park offers over 25 miles of trails through 3,300 acres of diverse Appalachian forest. The trail system includes options ranging from easy lakeside walks to challenging ridge hikes, with highlights including Fern Valley’s lush vegetation and Jesse Stuart’s favorite overlooks—the park is named in honor of the famous Kentucky author. The trails pass through mature forest, along the scenic lake, and to overlooks with mountain views. Wildlife is abundant, including white-tailed deer and numerous bird species. The park’s lodge and campground make this an excellent base for multi-day hiking adventures in northeastern Kentucky.
