About This Trail

Following FS Trail 13 through the Bald Mountains between Greeneville and Erwin, this backcountry route gains nearly 2,000 feet over 7.7 miles to reach the historic Kennedy Cabin. Diverse wildflowers and remote hardwood forest characterize the Cherokee National Forest ridgeline.

Getting There

From Erwin, take local roads south into the Cherokee National Forest. The Greene Mountain Trail is near Unicoi County and can be reached via forest service roads off US-19W or US-23. Use GPS coordinates for navigation.
