About This Trail

Named for a rare endangered wildflower in the mint family with delicate white-and-pink petals that blooms each May, this 1.1-mile trail at Chief Logan State Park winds past abandoned coal mines. Located in the heart of West Virginia’s southern coalfields, the steep terrain rewards with seasonal botanical treasures.

Getting There

From Logan, drive 4 miles north on WV-10 to Chief Logan State Park. The Guyandotte Beauty Trail starts at the head of Mud Lick Hollow; pick up a trail map at the park office before heading out.
