About This Trail

A 1.3-mile loop descending into a sandstone slot canyon lined with towering hemlock trees, vast rock overhangs, and seasonal waterfalls. Rare wintergreen plants grow on the canyon floor, making this one of the most scenic short hikes in southern Indiana’s national forest.

Getting There

From I-64, take Exit 79 for IN-237 north about 2 miles. Turn left on Union Chapel Road, then follow signs through intersections to Hatfield Road. Look for the Hoosier National Forest sign and park at the gravel picnic area lot.
