About This Trail
Honker Trail loops around scenic Honker Lake in the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, offering excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing in diverse habitats. The trail passes through forest, along the lakeshore, and near wetland areas frequented by waterfowl, including the Canada geese that give the lake its name. White-tailed deer, wild turkey, and bald eagles are commonly observed. The moderate terrain and varied scenery make this a pleasant hike for families and nature enthusiasts. The Land Between the Lakes’ unique peninsula setting between Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley creates exceptional wildlife habitat.
