About This Trail
This short spur trail leads directly to one of Kisatchie Bayou’s most popular swimming spots, a broad sandbar where clear water flows over a sandy bottom. Families love this trail for its easy access to safe, shallow swimming, and the shaded banks provide pleasant picnic spots. On summer weekends, the sandbar becomes a social gathering place for swimmers and tubers.
Getting There
From Kisatchie Bayou Recreation Area day-use parking, follow signs for the Sandbar Trail. The short path leads directly to the bayou and the swimming area.
