About This Trail
This pleasant trail follows the shoreline of Lake Bistineau, where bald cypress trees rise from the water’s edge and Spanish moss sways in the breeze. The path winds through mixed pine and hardwood forest before returning along the scenic lakeshore. Fishing piers along the route invite anglers to try their luck, while benches offer quiet spots to observe the abundant birdlife attracted to this beautiful north Louisiana lake.
Getting There
From Doyline, take LA-163 south for 3 miles to Lake Bistineau State Park. Enter the park and follow signs to the main trailhead, located near the swimming beach and picnic pavilion on the lake's northern shore.
