About This Trail
Lake Guntersville State Park sprawls across a peninsula extending into one of the Tennessee River’s largest lakes, offering miles of trails through diverse habitats. The Eagle Trail and connecting paths wind through forests of pine and hardwood, along bluffs overlooking the lake, and to designated eagle-viewing areas where these magnificent birds nest during winter months. The park’s location on a major flyway makes it excellent for bird watching year-round, while the lake provides a stunning backdrop for hiking. Spring wildflowers carpet the forest floor, and autumn brings spectacular color to the mountain slopes. The park’s developed facilities, including a lodge and campground, make it easy to extend your stay.
