About This Trail

Circling the fishing pond at Chief Logan State Park in West Virginia’s southern coalfields, this 1.1-mile path offers views of fish and turtles from an easy lakeside route. Picnic areas, limestone cliffs, and forested mountain scenery surround the trail within the park’s 4,000 acres near Logan.

Getting There

From Logan, take US-119 south approximately 4 miles to Chief Logan State Park at 376 Little Buffalo Creek Road. Follow park signs to the Lake Shore Trail near the lower lake area.
