About This Trail
The Laurel Fork Trail follows one of Tennessee’s most beautiful mountain streams through a scenic gorge in the White Rocks Mountain backcountry. The trail traverses dense rhododendron thickets, crosses the creek multiple times, and passes several small cascades and deep swimming holes. The gorge’s steep walls support diverse plant communities, including rare species found only in the cool, moist microclimate created by the surrounding cliffs. This trail offers excellent fishing opportunities in the native trout waters and provides access to remote camping spots along the stream. Spring hikers enjoy spectacular rhododendron blooms, while summer visitors appreciate the cool temperatures and swimming opportunities.
