About This Trail

Little Ocmulgee State Park offers a serene escape into Georgia’s distinctive wiregrass and longleaf pine ecosystem, with the Magnolia Trail providing a scenic tour of the park’s highlights. The trail circles Little Ocmulgee Lake, passing through stands of towering longleaf pines, crossing boardwalks over wetland areas, and providing frequent views of the peaceful lake waters. The park’s location in Georgia’s coastal plain creates a distinctive atmosphere with Spanish moss-draped trees and unique plant communities adapted to the sandy soils. Fishing piers along the route offer opportunities to try for bass and bream, while the quiet trails provide good chances for spotting wildlife including deer, wild turkeys, and various wading birds.
