Long Point Trail

Long Point Trail leads to one of the most spectacular viewpoints of the New River Gorge Bridge, offering an unobstructed view of the entire span from a rocky promontory jutting into the gorge. The moderate trail descends through forest along an old road before reaching the overlook, where the massive bridge appears to float above the river. This viewpoint is particularly popular during Bridge Day, when BASE jumpers leap from the bridge and parachute to the river below. The exposed rock provides excellent photography opportunities and a sense of the immense scale of both the bridge and the ancient gorge.
