About This Trail
This fully accessible paved trail loops through a protected stand of longleaf pines, offering visitors of all abilities a chance to experience this iconic Southern ecosystem. Interpretive panels explain the crucial role of fire in maintaining this habitat and the wildlife that depends on it, including the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker.
Getting There
From Natchitoches, take LA-117 south toward Kisatchie. The Longleaf Scenic Area is located approximately 10 miles south on the left. A paved parking lot with accessible facilities marks the trailhead.
