About This Trail

Climb 1.5 miles to a 1938 fire tower atop 2,608-foot Mount Elmore for 360-degree views of Mount Mansfield, Camel’s Hump, Lake Elmore, and the Worcester Range. A 4.4-mile loop combines the Fire Tower Trail’s moderate ascent with a mellow ridge descent.

Getting There

From Morrisville, take VT-12 south toward Lake Elmore. Elmore State Park entrance is on the west side of VT-12 just north of the lake. Follow the park road to the trailhead parking at the end.
