About This Trail

Ascend the 2,602-foot summit of Mount Everett, the highest peak in the southern Taconics, via the Appalachian Trail past Guilder Pond. The summit features an unusual dwarf pitch pine forest, fire tower foundations, and expansive views from Mount Greylock to the Housatonic Valley.

Getting There

From Sheffield, take Route 7 south through Great Barrington. Continue south on Route 41 toward South Egremont. Follow signs to Mount Everett State Reservation for access to the summit trail.
