About This Trail

A challenging 5.9-mile round-trip with over 2,500 feet of elevation gain to a 1951 fire tower offering jaw-dropping 360-degree views of the Presidential Range, Carter Notch, and the Baldfaces. Overnight camping in the tower is permitted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Getting There

From Conway, take Route 16 north to Hurricane Mountain Road. Turn left and continue 1.5 miles to the trailhead parking area on the left. The Kearsarge North Trail ascends to the fire tower from here.
