About This Trail

Rocky Springs was once a prosperous town along the Natchez Trace, but yellow fever, the Civil War, and boll weevils left it abandoned. Today, this atmospheric trail explores the remains, including the still-standing 1837 church, a peaceful cemetery with weathered headstones, and the spring that gave the town its name. Interpretive signs tell the story of this lost community, while spring wildflowers add color to the melancholy beauty.
