About This Trail

Natural Bridge is one of America’s most famous geological formations, a 215-foot-tall limestone arch that has drawn visitors since colonial times when George Washington surveyed it for Lord Fairfax. The trail descends into the gorge, passing beneath the massive arch that spans 90 feet across Cedar Creek. The bridge’s scale and setting create a genuinely awe-inspiring experience, with the surrounding forest and creek adding natural beauty to the geological wonder. Beyond the bridge, the trail continues up the gorge past the Lace Waterfall and through the forest to explore additional features. Now a state park after decades as a private attraction, Natural Bridge offers accessible trails and improved facilities while preserving its timeless natural grandeur.
