About This Trail

This long-distance trail follows beautiful Sylamore Creek through classic Ozark scenery of limestone bluffs, clear pools, and forested hillsides. The route varies from easy creek-side walking to challenging ridge climbs, with spring dogwood blooms and autumn colors providing seasonal highlights. Multiple access points allow for day hikes of various lengths, while backpackers can enjoy the full trail as a multi-day adventure. Getting There

Multiple trailheads provide access. From Mountain View, take AR-14 north to AR-341. For the Barkshed Trailhead, turn right and continue 6 miles. For Gunner Pool access, continue past Blanchard Springs Recreation Area on FR-1110.
