About This Trail
Overall Run Falls cascades 93 feet over a cliff edge, making it the tallest waterfall in Shenandoah National Park. The trail descends from Skyline Drive through diverse forest habitats, following Overall Run as it drops toward the valley floor. The falls are best viewed from an overlook platform, though adventurous hikers can scramble to different vantage points for varied perspectives. The steep return climb makes this one of the park’s more demanding hikes, but the reward of seeing Shenandoah’s highest cascade makes the effort worthwhile. Swimming holes below the falls provide refreshing rest stops during warm months. The trail continues to the valley floor for those seeking longer backcountry adventures.
