Follow 1930s Civilian Conservation Corps stone steps to open moss-covered granite ledges with sweeping views of Lake Groton and Kettle Pond. A stone shelter at the overlook and interpretive signage enhance this scenic hike through Groton State Forest.

Getting There

From Groton, take VT-232 north to Groton State Forest. Turn east on Lanesboro Road, 5.5 miles south of US-2. Park in the North Lot off VT-232 near the New Discovery State Park entrance and follow signs to Owls Head.
