About This Trail
While primarily a paddling route, portions of this trail can be hiked along the banks where the canoe trail passes close to shore. The path offers views into subtropical bayou habitat and provides access to the waterway for those wanting to combine hiking with a paddle. Canoe rentals at the park make it easy to transition from foot to boat.
Getting There
From Palmetto Island State Park boat launch, the hikeable portions of the Canoe Trail follow the bayou bank north. For the full experience, rent a canoe at the park office.
