About This Trail
Gentle rail-grade trail following the former Norfolk and Western Railway through Potts Valley in the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests. Mountain ridges reaching 4,100 feet frame the corridor, while a brook trout stream parallels the path through pine-hardwood forest. Interpretive signs highlight the valley’s mining history.
