About This Trail
While primarily designed for off-highway vehicles, the Rattlesnake Bay loop offers hikers a unique experience through longleaf pine flatwoods and along the edges of boggy wetlands. The wide, sandy trails are easy to follow, and the shared-use nature means lighter foot traffic than dedicated hiking trails. Early morning visits provide the best wildlife viewing and avoid most vehicle traffic.
Getting There
From Wiggins, take MS-29 south approximately 12 miles to FR-374. Turn west and continue 3 miles to the Rattlesnake Bay recreation area. The trail loop begins at the main parking area.
